5 ways to Connect with Yourself on a Deeper Level

It is important for me to have a stable relationship with my own self, because if it becomes unsteady everything starts falling apart.

We often struggle with a relationship with ourselves where we find ourselves having inner dialogues, which are mostly negative, judgmental, and critical. Where we doubt our capabilities and think that we are not good enough. That also leads to withholding love we feel for ourselves just because we think we do not deserve it.

We need to learn to control our critical inner chatter by practicing forgiveness, acceptance, and self-love; it helps us accept our flaws and weaknesses. When we direct our awareness or understanding of ourselves on a deeper level and where we try to quiet all the chaos of our minds and the external environments. We find a warm and safe space where we feel supported and at peace.

Like all other relationships, the relationship you have with yourself needs to be loving and caring.

Here are 5 tips you can practice to improve your relationship with yourself.

1) Draw your attention to your breath:

You can practice this whenever you want to, for this, you need to bring your attention to your breath, feel it while you inhale and then follow while you exhale. Put all your attention on your breathing pattern, just let everything flow naturally, do not force anything.

2) Be Supportive

Occupy yourself with thoughts, which are empowering and supportive, using positive words or positive affirmations can motivate you to act and achieve your daily and long-term goals, it can influence your subconscious mind and get access to the newly found beliefs.

3) Feel your Heart Energy

Our mind always comes up with negative thoughts but our hearts will always have positive energy, for this put your hand on your heart and breathe deeply, ask any question you may have, and pay attention to what it has to tell.

4) Connect with Nature

Do not just be in nature but fully feel it by using all your senses to touch and feel the trees, sand, and grass, observe the sunset and make sure you do this in silence and alone so you have time to think and talk to yourself.

5) Connect with your Body

For this feel your body, close your eyes and move your awareness to every part of your body and ask yourself “How does this part of my body feel today?” is it relaxed or tensed? This tip will help you connect with your body on a deeper level.
